Description and itinerary
The almond tree is one of trees whose flowers blossom the earliest, before spring.
The mild temperatures of La Axarquía cause almond trees to blossom even earlier in this region. Join us to enjoy a beautiful 2-hours hiking tour among almond trees and discovering its link with the agriculture of the area.
We will pick you up at your accommodation and will take you on a walk through the tiny village of Daimalos, which belongs to the municipality of Arenas and has only 50 inhabitants.
Daimalos is a charming place that seems to have been caught in time. Here you will get to know more about our Moorish past and the importance of the Fortress of Bentomiz in the Axarquía area.
Then you will enjoy hiking to see the almond blossom trees and more traditional mediterranean vegetation.
We will end the tour enjoying a delicious lunch at a local restaurant including homemade food and you will have the chance to taste the delicious local moscatel wine, made by the owners of the local restaurant.

Tree flowers usually blossom in spring, but the almond tree blossom starts at the end of January. However, the mild temperatures of La Axarquía cause this phenomenon to occur earlier, at the very beginning of January.
