Description and itinerary
Are you a cheese lover? In this case, join us for a wonderful experience in Alhama de Granada where we will visit a traditional cheese factory and in addition we will enjoy a guided visit in this charming town.
Our day trip will start at 9:30 am, our guide will pick you up at your acommodation and we will head to Alhama de Granada, a beautiful town well known not only for its famous baths, thermal waters, historic monuments but also for the production of cheese.
We will drive inland, enjoying the stunning views of Sierra de Tejeda and the olive trees.
Once in our destination we will visit a goat cheese factory. We will see where the goats live, how they are fed with the cereals from the area, then we will visit the cheese factory and we will see the complete production process of these artisan cheeses: from the moment the goats are milked until it curdles and turns into cheese.
At the end of the visit we will taste several of these amazing artisanal cheeses and you will have the chance to buy.
After this extraordinary experience we will enjoy a guided tour in Alhama de Granada considered a historic-artistic site and a town that played an important role in Andalusia’s past.
Then we will have some free time to explore the town for ourselves and visit a traditional bar to taste the local food.
We also offer you the possibility of walking with a local goatherd and his goats in the afternoon, in a village nearby.
